Overview
| The Pilot System Integral Helmet is specifically designed for use in high noise environments and provides both hearing protection and streamlined full face head protection. The helmets are fitted with interchangeable leads which allow them to be used with all of the different types of connector found in aviation. The helmets are specifically designed to work in open cockpit aircraft and integrate with the modular lynx Pilot System intercom to provide a plug-anti -play communication and radio system. The helmet is also available in versions compatible with any other aircraft intercom system; this includes standard general aviation systems which use twin jack plugs, microlight systems which use single Jack plugs and gyrocopler systems which use six pin connectors. For microlight and gyrocopter applications, the helmet?s microphone level can be switched between amplified electret and non amplified electret for complete compatibility with existing equipment. The helmet includes an ear-cup detensioner mechanism which reduces the ear-seal pressure when fitting and removing the helmet This feature makes the helmet very easy 10 use whilst ensuring optimum noise attenuation and comfort The helmet ear-cups are also fully adjustable in four axis 10 accommodate different head sizes and head shapes and may be locked in position. The helmet shell is manufactured from carbon composite with a polystyrene/memory foam comfort liner. Other features include a quick release and quick adjust chin strap and clear or tinted visors. Each helmet includes a specially developed electret noise cancelling microphone, an electronic speech processor and high quality speakers, The microphone is sensitive to speech but rejects extraneous background noise whilst the speech processor modifies the voice signal to produce a clear and natural sound. The helmet microphone is protected from wind noise inside the helmet chin guard and is positioned using a control on the outside of me helmet This control allows the microphone to be moved out of the way during fitting and removal of the helmet and provides fine adjustment in use. The microphone is mounted in a rubber anti-shock holder and is protected by a foam wind shield that can be removed easily for cleaning or replacement. The speaker volume is adjustable and can be set using the built-In volume control. |
