Overview

Self-contained halogen flashing anti-collision light with the same mounting pattern as the factory installed beacon on single engine Cessna's 1967 & later. Available in three different lens colors, Aviation Red, Aviation White and Split Aviation Red/White. When used in conjunction with the model 50519 mounting adapter, it can replace rotating beacons with the 3-3/4 dia. mounting hole. Note: Not recommended for installation on helicopters or twin engine aircraft.

Airone S 07.09.2019	Absolute junk. First attempt at installing, one of the hollow pins in the base that the solid pin on the bulb holders hides into broke off. Sent it back for repair. Got it back, installed, and worked well for about 2 hours, then bulb burned out. Attempted to remove it for troubleshooting, and one of the hollow pins came out of the base again, rendering it useless. Base is made out of plastic and cardboard. Whelen should be ashamed to sell this product. Do not buy.
John S 01.09.2019	Lots of positives: light weight, easy to install, relatively low cost. I changed the stabilator fin cap because of smaller diameter. However I was surprised to have greater RFI than the HRCFA strobe I replaced. I did not expect this at all. I could barely hear the strobe in my radio (garmin 200), but now there is prominent noise. Perhaps it is not as electrically simple as it looks.
Edward H 12.07.2019	The light works well, as expected, but it does NOT come with the adapter plate shown in the picture. That needs to be ordered separately for an extra $90.
Goodfriend A 06.07.2019	nice NOT led beacon. better than the factory beacon on the early Cessnas as less amps and you get to remove the power supply which is another source of failure on the old beacons. But, way to expensive for a plastic base, plastic lenses, plastic base to bulb, and Its still just a halogen beacon with 80$ replacement bulbs. if you can, double the money for the LED. I know......frustrating.:)

John 01.12.2018	looking at website, I ordered this light. I mistakenly thought the base was included with it. I was disappointed to find it was not. From the picture, I got the impression it was a kit. For the light itself the price is a bit high. Might have to return it. Product is good, the way it was presented was misleading.

Ross D 23.02.2013	Great replacement for older troublesome flashing units. If the light is on solid it is wired backwards. The plug comes from the factory backwards from some Cessna plugs.
