An exact replacement for a 5 year old concorde Rg-axc which was getting sluggish but still firing up my Beechcraft Sundowner. Arrived from ACP East to Tallahassee, Fl., in about 3days, faster than a letter! I left a note to leave on the step so I would not have to carry downstairs. Concorde provides good long service and is about good as they get. Have been buying from AirCraft Spruce when they started out mostly selling spruce, dope and covering supplies near the Griffen airport. Great Company!

I wish my experience was the same as many here. I purchased this battery from Aircraft Spruce 10/4/17. Now (7/11/19), approximately 20 months later, its dead. Replacing with same and hoping for better results.

Battery failed in 20 months 100 cycles. Correct battery minder in use, no unusual environmental conditions (Virginia) or equipment (Cessna 180). Concorde advised that credit under warranty would be $50 +/- for a $340 battery. They sent me to Aircraft Spruce as distributor, who has a warranty card on line with no mailing instructions so I have to wait for someone to call me back with mailing instructions! This isnt my first rodeo. Been flying 50+ years and owned all or part of seven airplanes over than time.

This is a replacement for the same battery that only lasted one year and less than 30 hours of tach time. It would not hold a full charge and had a bad cell on one end that gets warm when charging. Currently waiting on a warranty claim.

I have a C182 and it started this engine very well. For the money you would think it would last longer that 2 years, but it worked well til it died.

Dont ever fly with this battery in a discharged state. It will play havoc with your electrical system. I lost my ammeter - smoked it before popping the 60 amp breaker. Make sure this battery is fully charged and keep it that way. These things dont function like your typical auto battery that seem to tolerate such conditions.

Pricey, but a direct drop in for my 1958 Piper Tri-Pacer PA22-150/160.

I just bought a new one of these (RG-35AXC) to replace the one I bought 6 years ago.

I just took one of these out of service that had been in service in the aircraft for 9 years! I installed one in my own Piper PA-12 3 years ago. Still going strong. With 48 years in the aircraft maintenance business and after servicing hundreds of batteries, this is the best battery for airplanes I have ever been around. And no boil over mess.

I have had long service from regular RG-35A batteries since 1990 but was never able to crank the IO-550 in my C-182 thru on the first try. Recently tried a RG-35AXC and for the first time since the IO-550 install in 1996 it cranks thru compression on the first try , every try , even in below freezing weather. The first Concorde RG-35AXC I purchased lasted 10 years on my Cherokee 140. I kept it maintained with a Battery Minder with a desulferizing function. This new one came promptly and in good shape. Voltage measured 12.65 volts so I put it on a trickle charger overnight before installing to bring it up over the recommended minimal voltage. It works great and really spins my 0320 Lycoming. Would highly recommend this battery and Aircraft Spruce. Great product- no leakage or battery box corrosion or terminal corrosion for the life of the previous battery.

Installed 9/2011, maintained with BatteryMINDer Concorde-bespoke charger, aircraft voltage regulator set at 14.2v. Lost the alternator in IMC last month, drew the battery down to 11.8v. Now does not take a full charge. Excellent longevity given this stress.

The five star rating is solely on expectations based on the last Concorde RG-35 battery I had. It lasted 8.5 yrs, and I used a generic battery minder when parked. The battery had always performed well and there was no corrosion at the terminals.

This platinum series battery from Concord RG35AXC is a solid performer in my Mooney F model. I have a SKY-tek starter installed and this battery gives solid starting power. Like other commenters I started getting 2 yrs out of the Gill batteries and I was fighting some corrosion with the wet cells. I had used Concorde before the Gills and got 5 yrs out of the wet cells. So in March 2011 I purchased this upgraded Concorde battery and Im so glad I did. It just started weakening several months ago (in Aug 2017) so I did not want to go into winter and risk getting stuck due to a battery issue. So, am replacing it after 6.5 years. Thats right...6.5 yrs. It has the highest CCA in its class and it has never shown signs of corrosion. Note: I have kept a low amp AGM automatic charger on it during periods longer than 3 weeks and colder winter periods. Perhaps this has helped??? I should note that the Gill tech staff has been very helpful and knowledgable in my past conversations w them.

I have owned my Cherokee 235 for almost 20 years now and was replacing the battery every 2 years. I purchased the XC battery seven years ago and just now replaced it. My plane was still starting but it showed signs of getting weak when starting in temps in excess of 105 degrees F. Best battery I have every had.

This is the only battery that I will use now in my R44 helicopter. The basic R25 just wont do the job... I installed a new battery and a new starter before reverting to the RG35AXC.... twice the cold cranking amps... it rips!

Bought a new Concorde RG-35AXC (June 2017) to replace the one in my 1976 Cessna Cardinal 177FG (180HP). The previous battery (also a RG-35AXC) had been installed back in 2009! Any battery that last 8 years is a 5-star in my book. The new battery turns the prop over extremely fast, am very pleased with the performance and super high quality of this battery.

Used this to replace a pink in my new-to-me plane. The pink wouldnt crank the engine, and had issued with the radios. Concord sealed batteries have always been good for me, in my planes and the planes I work on. Worth the price difference in just not having to carry the jumper cables!

Bought this battery based on fedback from various forums and other sources. Only time will tell if it is deserved or not. I have a relatively good experience with a previous flooded Concorde battery which I got 6 years of use. Shipping was fast and efficient. My experiences with Aircraft Spruce have been good. Great battery. We replaced it with an identical make and model. We got 5 years and 378 Flight hours out of the last battery and I was very happy with its performance and reliability.

Fantastic product! Just bought my Second Concorde AGM battery from Aircraft Spruce, I have used them in two aircraft that i owned. I have changed them out after 8 years. They had not failed yet, but did have diminished capacity and were abused with the wrong chargers.

You can not beat a sealed Concorde Battery with extra cranking. Ive had them go 5 years for me.

Expensive and only lasted 3 years then completely kaput. It has been on the same battery minder my previous battery was on. The Gill lasted twice as long.

Best batteries ever made. If you are bored and like to clean battery boxes or pull your battery out every week to charge, dont buy this battery, look to Gill.

This battery was in my plane when I bought it five years ago. I dont have it on a trickle charger, nor do I know what the optimum voltage my generator should be feeding it is, much less what its getting. Still, its never left me stranded, and the battery box looks brand new. Im only replacing it now for my own peace of mind. I used Gils in my previous plane. I was lucky to get two years out of them, and I was constantly cleaning out the battery box.

Finally a sealed battery that works and does not seem to fail after a year or two like the old ones did. I run a maintenance shop and have been switching customers over as needed to this battery. Some planes tend to boil batteries over causing severe damage to the belly and structures. This battery not only works well, has a very low self discharge rate and, extra capacity, it does not boil over. So far, well worth the extra money over the standard batteries.

I am just now replacing the one I put in 11 years ago in my Twin Comanche. The pink batteries I used to used lasted 3 years maximum. Pretty much explains why I like it. I especially appreciate the fact that these batteries completely eliminate the need for battery box maintenance. No more cleanout. No more baking soda. No more messy battery box paint.

Just received and installed in my light twin. I have been plagued with hot start issues. I've installed bogart cables, sky tech starters, and alternator conversions.. Better, but performance still lacked. My Gill battery finally gave up after 2.5 years. I decided on the AXC for the few extra cold crank amps, I do not regret the extra $30. I am finally satisfied with the starting performance.

Wonderful battery. Combined with the correct BatteryMinder charger/maintainer I have gotten five years out of this battery and it still passes the ICA. The cost is comparable to a flooded battery, plus free shipping. I put an EI VA-1 volt/ammeter and Zeftronics ACU with OV and ground fault protection in the plane and set the VR for summer and winter voltages per the owner's manual. So far so good.

Wonderful battery that has never let me down. Never, and my first one was badly abused charging with car chargers and depleted to below end voltage on a long flight with a dead alternator. That battery still lasted five years before a cell died. It still started the engine just fine, but it would not pass a capacity test. Nine years later it is still good enough to run the 2000 lb hangar winch once in a while. Along the way I set the ship's alternator to the owner's manual recommendations for summer and winter voltages (14.2 - 14.4v for my average temp). It is also babied because I use the VDC BatteryMinder 12248-AA-S1 and now the -S5 charger/maintainer continuously when the plane isn't flying. I also have a solar charger from VDC for when its parked on the ramp somewhere. The thought isn't to save money: It's to have a reliable battery. The second battery is just turning four years old and still passing the Concorde capacity test. It has been babied more than the first so I expect it will last longer than the first, which beat the competition by about 2x at a similar cost. A word of warning: AGM/RG batteries do not tolerate abuse as well as flooded. Boil a flooded and you can refill it. Boil an AGM and it's toast. Ditto undercharging. To get max life you have to be a bit anal.

Replaced the previous RG-35AXC which was still turning over an O-540 after almost 8 years although getting weaker in cold temps. Fresh battery delivered with a good charge. Spins the prop much faster now. Hope to get another 8 years out of this one. Excellent service with free shipping included.

This is the second Concorde sealed battery I have used. The first lasted well over four years, and is still showing good voltage. However, the capacity seems to be somewhat diminished, and I donâ??t want to stress the charging system. I do recommend using a Battery Minder with this type of battery.

This battery has significantly more cranking amps and less maintenance due to being sealed. Important to do new weight and balance as it weighs 5 lbs more in order to get extra amps. I keep this on manufacturers recommended â?? battery minderâ? charger in the hanger to extend life and health of the battery

American made in the tradition everything used to be. Got 8 years out of my last wet one in my Trubo Arrow IV, delighted to trade up to maintenance free. Bought brand new Batteryminder to go with it as my previous was too old to upgrade to sealed battery specs, and had them send me a remote temp sensor to go with it as in the winter I heat the interior of the Arrow while the charger is external in a very cold hangar, so the attached sensor is innacurate. Expect to get many years of reliable use, itâ??s an excellent product. Found out recently Concorde makes milspec deep cycle batteries for marine and RV use, ordering some as well.

Good battery. For Cessna 182P was disappointed in having to modify battery cover to make battery fit. Got mod drawing from Concorde as they know the battery doesnâ??t fit these airplanes. Mod was easy but would have like to have known before I purchased.

This is my second Concorde battery. The first one went to seven years. The three gill batteries before that went an average of two years each and they spewed acid on the inside of my battery box. This one will not do that. Just be very careful with tightening torquw on the terminals because it can strip easily and other than that itâ??s the best thing going

Why anyone would buy a Gill non sealed battery is beyond me. This is 10x the battery for about $100 more. And... it doesnâ??t leak acid inside your 100k investment. A no brainer

My 3rd 35axc. First one went 5years so I replaced it and itâ??s still going strong on my Polaris Ranger. 2nd one failed at three years. Disappointing but it happens. I have high hopes #3 will be a 5year battery.

15 years ago I was paying $100 for a Gill in my 182. 10 years ago I opted for this Concorde RG-35axc. I will repeat that purchase next time I need to replace the battery. More starting power than the old wet cell. I have had the plane sit in the hangar for 3 months in Idahos cold winter, started right up after sitting that long. Also after ten years it performs at least 90% of new, not ready to swap it out yet, very long lasting. Expensive? Sure is. Worth it? damn right.

I recently just replaced my previous RG35 sealed battery with another one and I am very satisfied with my choice. The old battery was showing signs of age and it is definitely noticeable with the new battery and how rapidly it spins the prop and maintains a proper charge. As long as I own an airplane Ill always use Concorde Platinum Series sealed batteries.

I just replaced my first RG-35AXC with a second one after 10 years of use. It was still cranking the engines on my Seneca II albeit a little more slowly than when new. But after 10 years, I think I got my moneys worth. It never let me down once in 10 years. Hope to get 10 years from this one. Didnt hurt that I always kept a battery minder on it in the hangar.

I have had airplanes since 1999. My previous batteries never lasted more than four years. My current airplane has had a Concorde battery installed since 2012 and its now just starting to fail. I am happily ready to purchase a Concorde replacement.

This is the third Concorde RG-35AXC in 13 years of ownership. :: the first was in the airplane when I bought it. :: The second I installed in September, 2011, and consistently used the bespoke desulfating BatteryMinder by VDC Electronics -- except that sometimes when in for maintenance my request to keep the charger hooked up was forgotten. Maintence is *hard* on batteries because the master switch goes on and off many times through the days or weeks, and this, without recharging, causes loss of capacity and sulfation. Finally, in August, a mechanic failed to start the engine properly after maintenance and ran the starter until the battery was flat. Despite the BatteryMinder, the battery had lost so much capacity that the starter labored to turn the engine. So... 2 after 2 weeks short of 9 years of service, I replaced the battery. It was 5 weeks past manufacture, so I put it on the BatteryMinder before I put a load on it. The engine turns over just fine... I expect good service from this one as well.

Ordering was easy, it arrived in perfect condition within a couple of days and replaced the same battery, which showed no sign of any corrosion after 3.5 years. Replacing the battery was proactive maintenance, not a requirement.

Nowhere near as good as the last one. Never had the cranking power and would go dead if sitting for a couple of months.

This is a great battery. However, I had to reorder the battery as the first one was received damaged in shipment. I have made the mistake of not checking the damage immediately after opening the box and started cutting away some of the plastic material to make wires fit perfectly within my Cherokee battery box. Aircraft Spruce was understanding of my dilemma and sent a new battery. Great service. Thank you!! The replacement battery arrived in perfect condition.
