I gave it four because the price is way too high, Other than that it is twice as bright as my 100Watt I tried a 250W but the breaker would trip and the wires are too small to handle it. The Leds however are as bright as a 250Watt and I love it! Thinking of getting the wheel Landing lights with the LEDs. Then I will LIGHT OF THE WORLD! |

This is a great upgrade Ive been told I can be seen from 15 miles out easily. The only reason I didnt give 5 stars is because the tang on the back of the light doesnt line up with the detent in the retaining bezel so the light had to be mounted upside down or the bezel had to be modified otherwise a absolute great product! |

Great choice for a 1978 PA32-300. Drops right in with no modification to cowling, I was able to install it myself which is why its getting 4 starts instead of 3. This light does a little better that the old school halogen light. However, its not 40% brighter as they say. I have had it about 3 weeks and have done 2 night flight and I wasnt over the top impressed. Does provide a nice look to an old airplane! |

I installed this lamp on my 1965 Cessna 172F. It installed perfectly and performed flawlessly. It appears much brighter than the original incandescent lamp and draws 6 amps less power! |

My 1966 172G still has a generator and does fine until needing the landing or taxi lights. The airplane is in excellent condition and at this time makes no sense to switch to an alternator. As other commenters have said, I like to use the lights during day for increased visibility. But with the excessive current draw I would use them sparingly even at night. These LED lights are magic and solved the current draw issue. And of course the increase in brightness is awesome. Wish I would have changed years ago. |

I purchased this for installation on my homebuilt Velocity (still under construction). The kit actually came with the ubiquitous GE 4509 incandescent landing light, but theres no way thatll get installed on this sleek, brand-new Velocity Im building! |

After 4 years of flying my Cherokee 140D and replacing the incandescent landing light twice I decided it was time to move to the Whelen LED landing light. I was very interested in seeing my amp load decrease to lessen the overall load on the system and breaker on that circuit. Installation was as simple as replacing the incandescent lamp, and the power draw is miniscule compared to the old GE lamp. I am very happy with the purchase and the performance I have seen so far. I fly in and out of a semi busy non-towered training area airport so I prefer to fly with my light on during takeoff, area flying, and all pattern work. This was the answer to my problem with high amp draw and regular use of the lamp. |

Good light, easy to install with no mods to the cowling of a PA 28-180C. Unlike a regular bulb, the LED has a + and - post. If you get them backwards it will not work. |

Not cheap but I have been told these last forever basically. No heat build up and much whiter and brighter than the standard GE bulb that was in our AA-1 Yankee. Came with rubber ring that absorbs vibrations from the mounting bracket. It was tight but with a little silicon lube it sat in there just fine. Looking forward to many hours of service and we run with it on all the time the amp draw in the 14V unit is listed as 2.6 amps. We used to draw well over 6 amps. My electrical system likes it! |

Outstanding results from swapping out the old incandescent bulb. Uses way less amperage, and is much brighter. Really lights up the runway for better landings at night, and easier to see when taxiing too. Easily fit PA-28-140. |

Saves voltage from battery. Also saves money in the long run, I do not have to buy landing/taxie lights as often. The old filament lights blew out quite often. I would have to buy a new one and take the time to change it, which cost me more money. |

These lights were pretty much what I expected when I placed the order. A well made replacement LED light for the old incandescent lights in my C182L. Install was very simple, however the included rubber vibration dampner that goes around the outside of the bulb made it too large to fit in the bulb bracket so had to leave those off. Since the bulbs live in the wing, I dont expect it will make much difference. As far as performance, the taxi light was bright but I had hoped it would light up the area a bit better than it did. The design of the lens really diffuses the light to the point it is hard to tell where it is aimed exactly. While it does flood the area with some light, its just not as much as I had hoped. The landing light works well and is a much more focused beam and easy to adjust where you want the light. As with most LEDS, they use very little current and burn very cool, both big benefits in my mind. Hopefully they will last a very long time. If I had it to do over again, I might consider buying two landing lights and using one as the taxi light, focusing the light where I want it. Overall, I am happy with the purchase and am looking forward to the longevity of the lights and leaving them on during the flight for collision avoidance. |

Pros: Extremely bright. Draws very little current. Last for ever. Makes an old bird look like a new tweeter. Cons: The 24V version was sold at a discount price almost 40% cheaper than the 14V version. Although a PAR36 form factor, this is not a direct fit on the PA28-140 Cherokee. You will have to fiddle with the receptacle within the air filter assy to make the unit sit properly. Compared to competitive products, I believe this is a very good purchase. |

Installed it a while back, almost no noticeable draw on the ammeter unlike the old bulb. Ive left it on from takeoff to touchdown for the last ~69 hours and no complaints at all. I like the bright clear white light at night and the extra visibility during the day that I didnt have with the filament bulb (since I always turned it off so it wouldnt burn out as they always did). I Would recommend this if youre on the fence about buying, and its a direct replacement of the old bulb. |

I bought this bulb to replace the original parmetheus bulb I installed two years ago. Did a side by side comparison and it seams to be a bit brighter than the original but dont know if Id say 40%. If replacing a filament bulb, go for it but if you already have the led, dont bother. |

I installed this on my 1975 Cessna 150M, replacing a 100W landing light. Easy replacement. The LED offers a much wider beam for better visibility during taxiing, and is a whiter light. I also like the fact I can keep this light on all the time while the engine is running without fear of burning it out in about 25 (or less) hours! |

Bought 2 of these Whelen parmetheus plus on my Vans RV-4 to replace GE 7604 halogen which is a PAR36 that were supposed to last 25 hours but lasted about an hour. I have about an hour on the whelens now and they say it will last 10 thousand hours? One of my best investments! Perfect fit by the way came with a rubber gasket if you choose to use it that fits around the circumference. I did use it just to give a little more shock absorption. Changed them out during the day and faced them on inner hangar wall. Wasnt impressed until I flew with them in dark and I could see the blades of grass on my home strip of Mallards Landing whereas I could only see a flooded rough area of where the ground was with the halogen. The runway lights dont flood the ground, but now it doesnt matter. Also my wig-wag system worked automatically with it. Im happy enough with them since I dont have to land anymore with burned out halogens which prompted me to get them in the first place. But I believe if you need and have lights, they better work! |

I just installed the new model Parmetheus Plus which is supposed to be 40% brighter than the prior model. I installed it on the right side wingtip along with a Q4509 (quartz) on the left wingtip and then conducted an on-hangar door comparison at night. Both were almost identical with overall light intensity. The big difference is that the LED is very white vs. a more yellow tint from the Q4509. The other factor is longevity on the LED since I pulse these for safety. Hopefully down the road, the LED lights will perform much better than the incandescents and get closer to the lumens of the HID's. |

Just installed this landing light on Archer II. Installation was very easy, and the rubber surround fit perfectly. My goal was to achieve comparable light to the Q4509, but reduce the amperage. The current draw is amazingly less, but Iâ??m not convinced the light output is equivalent. I do very little night flying so this is not a big deal to me. The recognition ability of the lamp is worth whatever shortfall there is in brightness. Well made product that should serve me reliably. |

This Whelen LED 14V landing light appears to be extremely well built. It has a solid and reassuring presentation with electric diodes on the connectors that are not present on the replacement bulb. I am told that this product will draw less current and display a broader beam than the bulb it replaces. Like all LED bulbs, it displays a blue-white hue rather than the yellow-orange beam it replaces. I can not speak for the length of service but anticipate a vastly longer (as advertised) service life. |

Very bright, and a much smaller power draw than the GE4509. Install was very easy in an AA-5. The fit is a little tight in the retaining ring with the silicone gasket, but a very light application of silicone lubricant allowed a tight fitment and seal in the retaining ring. |

I had one problem. On the install of this item. The bulb I was replacing was a filament type where the polarity was not significant. The first hookup, the LED bulb did not light up. I reversed the wiring and it lit up. So I marked the bulb, with a marker, with Pos and Neg for future replacements. |
