Shipping was fast, and it fits like it was built for the box. I know, the box was built for it, but Im reviewing the battery! Easy to add the acid, only a couple spills.started the 152 right up, no problems there. I am hoping this battery will last longer than my last Gill. The review lost a star for historically short life on this product.

In our 185 and lasted 6 or 7 years. Not happy about the huge pricetag, but other companies charge the same

I own a Cessna 337B with this battery since June 2016. Lasted one and a half years only. Another owner of similar aircraft has had same battery for four years Cheaper battery that doesnt last is the general opinion. Guess it depends on your luck. Bought a Concorde so I dont have to guess in the future.

Lasted one year then let me down twice. Done with it false economy to buy this rather than the concorde one. Not happy.

Ive been getting 8 years on these batteries! Ive owned my Cessna 185F for 25 years and just now need my third battery! The tech folks at Gill tell me I need to upgrade to the 7242-14 which is sealed and more reserve life. That is nice, but its $150 more, so Im torn which way to go this time. I suspect those experiencing short battery lives arent taking care when they do their initial charge to bring them up very slowly. As advised by a Gill engineer, youll want to initial charge at only 2AMPS! This instant gratification mentality is killing their investment. If youre leaving it up to the mechanic, remember, he makes more money by doing a rush job. Also, clean your battery top before servicing, and then only service with distilled water & do your charge top off out side of the airplane!

Our experience has been much better than previous reviewers. We have run 242s in Cessna 185s and get usually better than 5 years of service. I just pulled one out with over 6 years on it because the ground post became loose, but we definitely got our money out of it.

I had the same experience as the last person with this battery. Mine lasted a year and a half just out of warranty and the post that comes of the battery fell off rendering the battery useless. There goes $460 I think I will buy the Concorde one this time.

Had my IA install this battery and it only lasted 7 months. I took to back to the factory and they advised that the battery failed the test and they would replace it. So, I went and did what they told me to do and bought another Gill 242 battery. They were said they would refund my money. THEY PRO-RATED the battery!!! SO, they only expect this battery to last one year and thats it!! No replacement!! Just pro-rated for what was left of the year!! Stay away!! This is either a bad company or have very bad communication.

I have had my Mooney 252TSE for 13 years and have gone through only 2 batteries (G-242) in that time. After 13 years I am now buying a third one. The previous one I bought and installed 4/2012. Thatâ??s 6 1/2 years of regular usage. In the past year I havenâ??t flown much and had to charge it a couple of times before a flight but overall Iâ??m happy with the performance. I wish they werenâ??t so expensive though. Kind of crazy beings a car battery is 1/5 the cost.

This is the battery I needed and it was the best price I could find. No hassle whatsoever ordering or receiving it. Enough of this review writing, Im going flying.

The purchase was well executed. The warranty process is flawed. Now the return department is demanding hard copies of all warranty documents when they already have everything scanned and emailed. this is an unnecessary delay in processing a warranty claim.

Five stars for Aircraft Spruce service and shipping. 3 for the battery, which will die in 18 months. Every Gill I get lasts between 12 and 18 months. Sealed, serviceable, or otherwise, Gill batteries die. Too bad Concord are 25% more.
