I own a CX-2 and used one of these CX-3s on my ground items for the flight exam - SO intuitive! I bought one for myself so now Im prepped for my written! Def prefer this model!

Very easy to use. If you get the ASA Android or iPhone app for the FAA Knowledge test and practice with that it will tell you how to solve the questions on the CX-3 which is nice. The buttons are large and the display clear and easy to read so this thing is actually usable in the cockpit! The competitors device is hard to read and impossible to use in flight in turbulence. The competitors device also has little icons it displays on its monochrome screen to signal which function you are performing. This has color and a backlit screen and there is no mistaking what you are doing with it. It is a must have for the FAA Knowledge test!

Excellent product. I bought this to replace a Sportys electronic E6 B. This costs about $20 more but is worth every penny. It is much faster than the old circular unit. I highly recommend this product. The shipping was also very fast.

Simple to use. Intuitive menu. Does every aviation calculation I can think of. Reasonable price. What else can you ask for?

Brilliant intuitive pilot tool comes with protective case and a quick start cheat card. Has a large backlit readable screen white letters and numbers on black background easy to see. Surprisingly unit conversions also include Mb for baro setting speed in kts weight in Kg to suit Australian aviation units used. I got the best price at Aircraft Spruce even after import taxes and freight cost. Its imperative to download CX3 Flight Computer instructions to be able to become conversant and to use its full potential.

This device is intuitive to the point I did not need to read the instructions. It is very easy to use.

Overall quite good. If I lost it I would buy another. There are a couple of areas I feel it could be improved. The back cover which must be removed to change the batteries is quite the struggle to remove. I was afraid I was going to break it when removing it. I donâ??t think the batteries last too long so this could be an issue. It also would be nice to have some way short of removing the batteries to completely clear the calculator. Even turning it off then back on it retains in memory the last work done. This means when working on a fresh problem there is the danger of accidentally leaving in and using data from the previous problem you were working on.

I was studying for my instrument written exam and my mechanical slide-rule type E6B fell apart in my hand, so I decided to try an electronic one. I would have rated this computer 5 stars, but the first two I was sent did not work. The first one turned on but the screen malfunctioned as soon as I tried to use it. The second one turned on but locked up and would not function. In fairness, the second one came with half of the box so wet that it was held together only by the copious amount tape that was used. That said, the computer itself, including the box it was in, were dry and showed no signs of moisture, thanks to a large amount of bubble wrap and tape. This flight computer is simple to use. It took me a few minutes to figure out where to go to get the calculations that I needed, but the operation is still pretty intuitive. Aircraft Spruce was very good to deal with, but being without a computer for two weeks made it very difficult to study. Iâ??m still a bit concerned that this computer may not hold up. I guess time will tell. I have apps on my phone for backup.

As a CFI I purchased this for my students to use on written tests. It takes a little bit to figure out how to use it. Not as easy to use as the Apps.it took about 30 minutes to start figuring it out. For the money spent It should be easier to use like the other calculators Iâ??ve used.

Great flight computer and easy to use

Purchased to replace old Sportyâ??s E6B calculator. It has more functions, especially useful is the tricky pattern entry calculation, easier to read due to adjustable backlight, feels sturdier.

Bought this just prior to my PPL written test and love it! Super easy to use.

The CX3 is hands down worth every penny. It will pay for its self the first pilot knowledge test. Yes it is legal to use on the tests. The weight and balance option is a bit sketchy but still very useful in every computation of aviation. Look this device up on youtube.
