Installed a skydive 182B. Its used for skydiving. Theres 3 wires on this. I had 2. Called UAvionix. Very technical response. Dont use the 3rd wire. App was easy to navigate. Called support and they REALLY stepped up. Easiest thing I have added to the plane. Highly recommend

Installed and configured in 1.5 hours by my IA at annual. Flew out of class B on cross country flight of 50 minutes and the FAA test report was perfect. Beechcraft Sierra. Total price including the Skybeacon and install was just under $2,000.

I purchased a ADS-B Tail Beacon for my 1965 Champion Citabria 7ECA last year from A/C Spruce for $1999. In May I got out to my hangar after the Corona-virus Lock-down in MN was over and found that the Tail Beacon didnt fit. I reordered a Sky Beacon for $1849 and returned the Tail Beacon. I really appreciate the quick response with getting the Sky Beacon with no restocking fee. The weather in MN has been cold and windy and I hope to get the sky Beacon installed next week and get flying. I have been flying my Citabria for 45 yrs. As advertised. Works great and is easy to install with the attachment to the wing. The hardest and most time consuming proves to be the paperwork! Very happy with the purchase.

This unit is extremely easy to use and reprogram. I am an Angel Flight pilot and need to reprogram it to my NGF call sign, then reprogram it back to my N number once the Angel Flight is done. The app on my iPhone instantly connects to it via Bluetooth and I can do the reprogramming in less than a minute. I highly recommend it for anyone needing to be ADS-B compliant.

So Far so good. Easy to install and configure. Worked right out of the box. Installation in the aftermarket fiberglass wingtip took a bit of JB weld, but no fault of the Skybeacon. If you consider buying the fairing adapter to make installation easier, start with sharp scissors, pull out a crisp $100 bill and have fun cutting it up. Save yourself the time of trying to make the fairing adapter work. My iphone connects easily but loses connection when airborne. The Skybeacon is working, just cant monitor it in the air. Too bad, I was looking forward to seeing what it reports.

Installation was simple and delivery was prompt as expected.

Installation was easy to do, remove the old whelen nav light, strobe light and power pack, and attach the wires. I purchased the adaptor for the Cessna 172M for a better fit. I had my son do the app downloads and he was familar with doing a lat / long veification on his smart phone. Did a 337 and W&B change. My son flew the plane and verified the operation with ATC. The only change I did was to use knife connectors rather than butt splices, and inserted plastic tubing over the connectors.

My 3rd ADSB install and this is the easiest one to install by far compared to a transponder or transponder sensing unit.

Easiest installation of any ADS-B system however know this: On retractable gear aircraft, turning on the nav. lights dimms the gear down lights making them useless in daylight. Rewiring the lighting system controls adds a new level of complexity to the installation.

After considering all the options to meet the FAA ADS-B mandate the Skybeacon seemed to be the easiest and most straight forward option. It truly was a 10 minute installation and less than 5 minutes on my iPad for setup. After first flight downloaded the FAA performance report just as advertised. Worked perfectly. If you canâ??t install this yourself you should turn in your pilots license. Itâ??s easy, easy,easy.

Extremely easy installation and configuration via cell phone app. Really can be installed in ten minutes if there are no issues with the aircraft. Works flawlessly!

I had this on preorder through the manufacturer for several months. It finally arrived this week (Jan 10th 2019). The unit is exactly as advertised with the biggest advantage being the fast and easy installation. Mine was installed within 15 minutes. Additionally, the unit appears well made. It is sturdy, hefty and tight, despite weighing only 3.5oz. One wire install (+12v) and the unit grounds to the airframe via the mounting screws, ground wire is optional. Not using the third wire (anti-collision light). Setup through the IOS app was intuitive and straightforward. Subsequent flight went well. Foreflight showed the Ownship and the nearby traffic was a lot more pronounced since I wasnt relying on someone nearby for Ownship. Ive always said this unit will be a game changer if ever they could successfully bring it to market. Well, after excuse after excuse and month after month of delays, its finally here. I hope they eat everyone elses lunch.

I would prefer to have a wiring diagram and/or some written instructions included with the product. I had five wires coming out to the Whelen nav/strobe that this product replaced. There are three wires to the Skybeacon! The service/shipping from Aircraft Spruce was outstanding as usual.

The easiest and quickest setup, as advertised the install takes only 10 minutes. Only drawback is if you donâ??t have a power switch in your aircraft for strobes and you are planning on turning them on/off by the app you wonâ??t be able to do that in flight. Ill give it 4 stars for now. Had a couple of setup glitches (mode 3a) and a failed test flight. Another flight will tell. Install a piece of cake.

Super bright Red wingtip light . Mechanic installed in 20 Minutes. He then Went to SKY BEACON app and entered information etc, and used 35 as sensitivity setting. Faa showed 34 minute flight in C airspace, but Ads-B failed to generate a Complete report for approval. Mechanic was with me at the time of flight. Called support and was told to set sensitivity to 32 on the app. Awaiting next test flight to see what will happen. Will up date soon after second attempt is completed. Hopefully 5 stars.

I ordered the product without doing adequate research. I have a high voltage strobe which would have to be disabled.Also need additional fairing for Cessna 172 which results in more complex install. I returned product before installing and ordered the tail beacon. Aircraft Spruce has been easy to work with. Thanks.

Didnâ??t fit my wing tip. Will have to send back and get the tail mounted one.

Item is not suitable for my aircraft. Discovered this after purchase.
